MONEY AND SUNDAY

Guyana’s monetary system is in dollars but not Canadian dollars. We went out to Church’s Chicken for our evening meal yesterday and my chicken sandwich combo cost $1100 dollars. A short taxi ride will cost you $300 dollars. (How about that Eric and Ron?) For us that is quite funny. Can I borrow $1,000 dollars to buy a sandwich? No problem, here. At church today I gave $2,000 for the offerings.

This morning we attended two church services and will attend a conference on Islam tonight. The worship was loud, boisterous and passionate and I loved it. The words were clearly sung and heard above the instruments. The lead singers had strong powerful and to my estimate professional quality voices but were ordinary village people. I was deeply moved at the sense of God’s presence.

Suliman Preaching
This was not a fabricated emotional service but a group of people who love Jesus deeply and wanted to bring glory to his name. The Pastors evidently loved Jesus with their minds and hearts. Many of these believers are first generation and know they have been delivered from darkness to light and from wrath to love in Christ. They want to show their gratitude and joy. I love these people because they obviously love Jesus and are glad to show it.

House of Praise
I will be preaching next Sunday at the Prophetic Renewal Ministries church (first picture) next Sunday so pray about that please.
