FINAL PREPARATIONS

Dear friends and fellow saints. Final preparations are being made for Friday's mission trip to Guyana. I dug out my old suitcase this evening, the one with the broken wheel I repaired in Chad using a small block of wood, some screws and bailing wire. Hope it holds up for another trip. I am gathering last minute supplies and praying I will not forget anything important like the plug for my notebook.

I woke on Saturday with a great sense of the fellowship of the saints in this upcoming mission to Guyana. This was confirmed later in the morning with a special phone call from someone who wanted to say they are praying for me. Then again on Sunday by the comment of another saint, and then formally as the elders prayed over Diane and I. I am convinced that we are not in this work alone but that in Spirit you are working with us and bearing fruit with us as Diane and I make the journey to Guyana on Friday. This is the advantage of prayer and financial supporters. They become stakeholders in the work and share in the spoils. I am truly rejoicing in your fellowship (partnership) in Christ. In fact I very much feel that you are coming with us on this trip.

Pray for final preparations, trips to the airport, flight safety, ability to sleep on the plane, team fellowship and unity, good health, team devotions, fellowship with our Guyanese brothers and sisters etc... I ask for special prayer as I may be asked to preach a number of times. I have intentionally not prepared anything ahead of time wanting to speak to the occasions I will be in. I have a number of sermons on my computer as resource material. Pray that I will speak in the power of the Spirit and those who listen will listen in the Spirit and God will work in all our hearts to His Glory.

I will try to send out a short daily summary while in Guyana if all goes according to plan along with some daily prayer requests.

I thank God for your partnership in the Gospel.

God is faithful, who has called you into fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.   1 Corinthians 1.9

I thank my God every time I remember you.  In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy  because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.    Philippians 1.3-6

May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.  2 Corinthians 13.14
